Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Fold Collar Vest and Jumper?

Both styles are made from the same soft fleece-backed fabric and share the same structured fold collar. The Vest is sleeveless, keeping the front legs completely free and making it particularly easy to put on. The Jumper has two front sleeves for additional coverage on cooler days.
How does the fold collar work?

The collar can be worn in two ways. Snap it closed to sit higher around the neck for extra coverage, or wear it open and folded down for a softer asymmetric shape. Folding it down also makes it easier to access a collar worn underneath for attaching a lead.
Are these designed specifically for Italian Greyhounds and Whippets?

Yes. Strela clothing is developed specifically around the long neck, deep chest and narrow waist of Italian Greyhounds and Whippets. The patterns are shaped to follow the body closely while allowing natural movement through the shoulders and legs.
How warm are they?

The fleece-backed sweatshirting provides soft, comfortable warmth suited to cooler days and transitional weather. The Vest keeps the body covered while leaving the legs free, while the two-sleeve Jumper provides additional coverage through the front legs.
Which style should I choose?

Choose the Fold Collar Vest for an easy everyday layer, milder weather or a dog who isn't particularly enthusiastic about sleeves. Choose the Fold Collar Jumper when you want more coverage through the front legs as temperatures fall.
Can my dog wear a collar underneath?

Yes. The fold-over design allows the collar to be opened and folded down, making it easier to reach a collar underneath and attach the lead.
How do I choose the right size?

Measure your dog's neck, chest and back and compare them with our Size & Measuring Guide. Italian Greyhound and Whippet sizes are graded separately to account for the differences in their proportions. If your dog falls between sizes, contact us at strela@strelastudio.com and we'll be happy to help with fit.
Are Strela pieces made to order?

Yes. Each piece is designed, cut and sewn in London and made to order rather than mass produced. Please check the current production time shown on the product page before ordering.
